Monomachiarum is a multifandom experiece that takes the characters into the chaotic future of the 30th century in the great expanse of space. Our lore is a combination of worlds brought in from other franchises, lore created by the site founder, and user-submitted information in order to make a vast and diverse setting. Add your pages to our grand story no matter who your characters might be or where they came from before. This is a place meant to explore possibilities and open new doors. Canons and OCs are welcome, just so long as they can fit into the setting with a little bit of reasonable modification here and there if necessary. So what are you waiting for? Join us today! about the character Franchise This Character is From || Mass Effect Trilogy How Much Experience Do You Have With Character/Franchise? || While I admitted just started playing Mass Effect 1, I have been doing an amount of lore research for the site to help develop the Triangulum Galaxy region, including wikia reading and watching multi-hour story playthrough videos. Why Would This Character Be A Good Fit For Our Site? || Other than the obviousness of Shepard being a canon of the Mass Effect setting, they do fit well into an evolving sci-fi/Space opera setting, and Shepard is a personalization factored character as well. Do You Roleplay This Character Elsewhere? || This would be the first. in your own words Explain Your Character || Will Your Portrayal Deviate From Canon? || As the Mass Effect setting is starting off prior to the events of the games, this is a definite given. Likely much of Shepard's canon experiences may or may not happen in the unified setting, so it’ll be interesting to explore the alterations and changes. Why Do You Love This Character? || Shepard is an interesting character that allows for player choices, but still has a greater sense of “self”, unlike Bioware’s previous well known player proxies, Revan and the Jedi Exile. It’s a combination of exploring the established character with deciding parts of who that character is. The choices given for Shepard's pre-game history all radically affect who they are immediately, which I don’t think a lot of people realize.
Writing example one
The silence was maddening. Outside the sound of her own breathing, there was nothing out this forsaken rock in the Hestia debris belt. Four hours already since she had been dropped off on HB-67-219871-C, a three-mile sized rock literally in the middle of nowhere, all part of Day One training. So far, she had lasted with just a kit of basic gear and enough oxygen for ten hours. She was unfortunately at only three hours remaining after she had discovered the displaced compression seal in her suit’s air processing unit, which had slowly leaked the precious oxygen before she had noticed. Some clever jerry-rigging had fixed the seal, but it still had lost her that much air, and was likely to cost her much in this test.
As of yet, she wasn’t sure what caused it, though it wasn’t any kind of faulty part and seemed more likely to have been hit with too much pressure when the rebreather had started up and jammed out of place. More than aware that her suit would sent an alert signal should she get dangerously low or something went seriously wrong, she wasn’t worried about that so much as making sure she wasn’t one of the first few that had to be picked up. Equipment hiccup or not, she had to be ready to deal with any situation. The entire reason she was here was her actions on Elysium, it wouldn’t do any good to tank out after that.
writing example two
Shore leave, it was supposed to be. Come down to Elysium and get a few days ‘vacation’. Enjoy the alpine paradise. It was supposed to be a rest from the policing actions of the past four months in the Skyllian Verge, basic actions for a Second Lieutenant not long out of officer school. It was supposed to be involving drinks, hot springs, and some recreational skiing.
Not a blitz by batarian pirates looking to raid for supplies and slaves.
The M-7 Lancer in her hands was still venting excess heat built up from the last volley while she breathed in and readied herself. There were shouts coming; batarians, coming to sweep into what they thought was easy pickings from human colonists. Big surprise for them when an off-on-shore-leave Alliance Marine Lieutenant had gotten to the weapons lockers and grabbed the now ready assault rifle. It was a second group coming to check what had happened to the half dozen first sent in.
Too bad for them they were about to meet what happened to the first group.
writing example three
Arcturus Station was buzzing. She wasn’t sure what yet was going on, but she has just gotten in from six months tour on the SSV Glasgow, and had been greeted by what looked like excitement, yet also apprehension. Something big had just happened.
“Hey, did we just declare outright war with the barbarians finally?” It would mean shipping right back out, but it would also at least deal with the issue of the severe batarian hostilities, and they had cut off contact with the Citadel. Seemed like a win-win.
“Reports are being confirmed from the Citadel that at this moment, formal contact has been made from outside the galaxy with an organization calling itself Galaxy Railways, who were accompanied by a new non-human species calling themselves ‘San-gel-lee' from a galaxy called Sol-Daiban, which seems to be the barred-core spiral galaxy that lays just under three million light years from our own. This has been a further Alliance News Network update since the arrival of the Galaxy Railways and their alien escorts at the Citadel from beyond the galactic border-"
And her kit bag dropped to the ground with a thud while her jaw dropped. “Did Diana Allers just say first contact from outside the galaxy?!”
