Most of the plasma bolts would miss Eliza, the mechanical beings far from the best shots and mostly filling the air with saturation fire - the one or two bolts that came close to her were deflected by her barrier. More importantly, however, the barrier would protect Eliza from far more dire and unexpected threats as she sprinted and cut down, aiming to bisect one of the other creatures. As her blade traveled down its body and met the glowing white center below its chest the core would burst, spraying white fluid that crackled with electric energy and filled the the cabin with the smell of brine. Droplets would bounce off her barrier, sizzling against it, and the rest of the fluid would spill across the deck plating as the mechanical being fell apart as its core burst. The second creature would continue to fire up until the dismembered arm was thrown at it, caving in the upper chest of the mechanoid and dropping it to the floor, sparking.
Behind her, the disarmed creature Eliza had stabbed and removed the weapon arm from would stiffly turn, raising its remaining arm towards her back - spindly fingers open and violet energy gathering in the palm before it released a concussive blast meant to throw the woman away from it, pinpricks of light forming elsewhere in the cabin and signaling imminent reinforcements.

Eliza gaze a cry of startled disgust and mild alarm when the core burst apart, having not anticipated any sort of fluid spills, and started away from the spillage, just in time to spot the energy being gathered by the disarmed creature in her periphery, though not quickly enough to fully evade the discharge. Pain rang through her head as the Witch was sent spinning through the air, nearly colliding with a bulkhead before she could twist her body around to absorb the impact with her feet.
"Ship systems emergency override, initiate voice command navigation, set new course heading 287.276! Authorization Echo Lima Three Five," she shouted over the growing din as she lightly settled back onto the deck.
"Voiceprint accepted. Emergency override engaged," the ship's AI announced with the serene calm of a basic navigation program. the fact that there were boarders did not matter to it, because it was incapable of such abstract concepts as caring.
With that matter addressed, Eliza lunged towards the remaining construct, leaping clear over the puddle of strange liquid, though rather than risk another burst of possibly, if not likely toxic material, she swung her plasma blade in a circular path, intending to simple sever the core from its head and remaining limbs.
As Eliza lunged towards the last of the creatures it would illuminate, its body glowing before suddenly disappearing as her saber swung through the air - and reappearing with another flash of light a handful of meters back, the rifle arm spewing rapid bolts of plasma in Eliza's direction.
Elsewhere the other pinpricks of light materialized, reality digitizing in a glowing matrix before forming into solid constructs - two more of the crested mechanoid beings, albeit a third one was new. Easily over two meters tall and built with a hulking, much heavier frame, it rounded on Eliza with a single glowing red eye before starting to walk in her direction. The two smaller mechanical frames stepped off to the sides, seeking to again interface with the foreign ship as the first creatures had done before being interrupted. Stepping up to terminals, their red eyes would again begin scanning the workstations, freezing the Goddess's automated and operating systems as it was bombarded with queries.

Eliza snarled as she saw the creature vanish, then reappear several meters back, against the cabin bulkhead. When it returned fire, she'd expected to feel the searing burn of plasma eating through her armor, even if she had attempted to pivot out of the line of fire, yet to her surprise, the bolts went wide, and she briefly wondered if evading had even been necessary as she lunged forward to attempt the same circular slash from the construct's left side, having allowed her momentum to carry herself across the cabin and against the same bulkhead.
Elsewhere, Veska finally forced the door of the armory open, then quickly gathered a trio of EMP grenades, as well as an ominous-looking slugthrower weapon that that appeared somewhat akin to the ancient Terran minigun, though the barrels were far too wide in the bore to be chambered for 7.62x51mm NATO cartridges. Along the barrels spiraled strange runes that seemed to glow dimly, and with only a moment of hesitation, Veska picked the heavy weapon up, then sprinted back towards the command cabin, bursting inside just as three more of the mechanical creatures appeared. This time, the AI didn't hesitate at all, squeezing the trigger down to set the six heavy barrels spinning.
"Veska, what th' fuck?!" Eliza exclaimed in surprise as the cabin was then filled with the teeth-rattling roar of Fury's enchanted munitions loosing 00 buckshot at the largest of the creatures. The AI didn't respond to the outburst, though it was doubtful that even Veska's artificial hearing could have discerned the Witch's words over the din.
Plasma bolts continued to spray from the first creature's weapon arm as Eliza lunged again, shots going wide just before the woman's saber cut into and around it - avoiding the core, the creature's head, weapon arm and legs would be cleanly separated from its torso, leaving the fluid filled core intact as it fell to the floor in pieces, sparking.
With the entry of the second combatant, however, things would prove significantly more complicated than initially thought. As the largest of the three creatures caught sight of the gynoid its recessed head and photoreceptor would track her - and with the first buckshot round the air around the creature would shimmer a bright violet, the shot disappearing as it impacted against what were clearly some form of energy shield. Raising its right arm to aim at its attacker, the larger creature would fire, sending heavy bolts of concussive violet energy raining down towards Veska's end of the cabin.
Meanwhile, the two Vex attempting to interface with the ship do not move or react, holding stock still as they attempt to interpret the Goddess's systems.

Veska let out a cry as violet energy bolts slammed into her torso, blasting away a large swath of the hydrogel layer that comprised her skin, and roiled across the hydrostatic gel layer that sheathed her carbon nanotube musculature with such violence that portions of the layer popped and leaked the cyan semi-liquid in a manner somewhat reminiscent of blood. However, Veska did not bleed, and the scream had been the product of her programming to mimic human behavior, and not an expression of true pain, and she quickly moved to scramble back to her feet.
Eliza wheeled on the two constructs interfering with her ship, radiating fury openly at this slight, and took full advantage of their stillness to unleash a wide, sweeping strike aimed at neck height that came with such swiftness that to a human eye, her burning plasma blade would have briefly appeared as a sheet of pale blue light, rather than a sword blade. "Get off my ship!" she snarled, already bringing the saber back towards their hips. In the same motion, she finally drew one of the two MARS hand cannons she wore, growling out the incantation to infuse the next shot with her arcane power, and fired into the third and largest creature's back, hoping to disable it, as well, so that the Dancing Goddess could make good her escape.
Eliza's sweeping cut at head level decapitates the two creatures interfacing with her ship, freeing it to resume normal operation as they lose their ability to bombard its systems with requests for information and attempts to decrypt its coding and language. They do not, however, fall. While their stance staggers and their heads fall to the deck plating in a loud clang the mechanoid creatures jitter and spark, quickly rounding on their attacker even as she turns to fire at the larger creature - a small explosion infringing upon its violet energy shield but not quite breaking it.
Still focused on the larger perceived threat, the larger of the three boarders continues to slowly advance on Veska, firing again and lobbing explosive shots of purple energy her way as the two creatures Eliza beheaded advance on her with a much faster frenzied pace, firing wildly in her general direction.

Eliza hadn't expected such a violent and sudden response when she'd severed the heads, and had in fact hoped that it would have stunned the machines long enough for her to complete their dismemberment. Hindsight, as they said, was 20/20, and it took everything Eliza had to steer herself clear of one of the relentless barrages of plasma. The second, however, managed to strike home with a shot, burning a fist-sized hole in her techsuit's left thigh and searing the flesh beneath. The scream that tore its way from Eliza's lips was as much fury as it was agony, however, and though she dare not move her leg, fearing that she'd fall over, she retained enough of a sense of her surroundings to strike at the weapon arms in order to stem the hail of plasma flying her way. "Computer, flank speed ta jump point, engage drive once origin jump is reached!" she snapped off, hoping the command wouldn't be interrupted yet again.
As Eliza frantically fended off her assailants, Veska nimbly evaded her own opponent's attacks as if she hadn't suffered any injury. The AI smiled in a way that seemed almost predatory, then armed one of the three grenades and hurled it at the construct as she leaped backwards away from the grenade. In theory, she was hardened against EMP, but she'd also been damaged, and so she had no desire to be within the blast range when the weapon went off.
Headless and having seemingly lost all sense of self preservation, Eliza's strikes at the weapon arms lop off the limbs with nothing resembling resistance - although as this happens both of the sparking, jittering creatures raise their remaining limbs, a familiar purple glow of concussive force aimed at Eliza from point blank range. As Veska primes and throws the EMP grenade at the largest creature it detonates, the purple barrier around its body disappearing... although with no further effect as it stops for only a moment before resuming, firing additional explosive shots and continuing to calmly advance on Veska.
Elsewhere in the cabin, above the scattered remains additional pinpricks of light would begin to coalesce and digitize, signaling imminent reinforcements.

Eliza clenched her teeth in a tight grimace as she was forced to move her injured leg, but she didn't buckle, even when the mechanical creatures swung their limbs at her. Instead, she snarled out a short utterance, conjuring a barrier of arcane energy once more, then slashed her plasma saber across their midsections, aiming just below the strange white portion in hopes of crippling the constructs and ending their threat. As she turned, adrenaline now dulling the pain in her thigh, she saw another large swath of artificial skin blow apart and a second seeping wound in Veska's hydrostatic gel layer form under the power of the larger construct's attack. Fury welled up within the Witch, feeding on her pain rather than banishing it. First these things violated her ship, and now they sought to destroy one of her few trusted companions? That could not go unanswered, and Eliza raised her MARS as she uttered the deadly words to prepare another Bursting Shot.
Veska gave a second scream, and for a moment, memory surfaced of a very different scene, yet aboard the ship she lay upon the deck on. Flashes of something she'd never truly experienced before returned in the tension of her present circumstances, and the AI's eyes went wide with fear. Was she about to die? What would happen then? She wasn't certain she was prepared to discover that firsthand, and fortunately, she wasn't overheating just yet. With that knowledge, Veska bolted to her feet and rushed her foe, intending to knock it to the ground in order to buy enough time and enough space to retrieve Fury and finish the creature off.
The last two creatures engaging Eliza fall, their cores intact as their legs are cut out from under them and their bodies crash to the deck plating. As Veska got up and sprinted to try and tackle the larger creature, however, it would repeat the same trick that one of its earlier companions had - blinking out of existence as the damaged gynoid charged through the spot it had been, reappearing a moment later beside her. Turning and looking at Veska, the construct would attempt to fire only for its weapon to spark and sputter, presumably damaged by the earlier EMP. Immediately correcting for the weapon failure it would instead bring an arm down in a hammer strike aimed at her back.
Three more of the smaller constructs appear in the cabin, one again attempting to interface with the ship as the remaining two identify Eliza and her weapon, opening fire with their own plasma weapons.

Eliza scowled as the construct vanished, teleporting behind Veska to strike her from behind, yet Eliza simply adjusted her aim, her rage giving a clarity of focus she rarely experienced in combat, and fired past Veska's hip in order to cripple the creature, hoping to blow off its leg, or even its entire lower half. Had it not been for the vicious response decapitation had provoked with her last attempt, Eliza might well have tried for a far more simple headshot, but in light her her near-death experience from something similar, she wasn't keen on repeating the experiment with something bigger and more powerful. It was only after she'd taken her shot that she gave the newest arrivals her attention, and used her hair to grapple the creature interfering with her ship, then attempted to hurl it at its companions. She was beyond words, now, too furious to even speak more than perhaps an incantation if she truly needed to.
A sound somewhere between an electronic scream and roar would come from the larger creature as one of its legs took the shot from Eliza, blasting apart armor and metal to leave the mech unbalanced as it fell to the deck plating... although far from "dead". Slamming into the floor it would immediately reach to grab at Veska, its inoperable weapon arm rising up to fall on the gynoid in a brutal clubbing motion.
While Eliza's initial attempt to grab the new meddler would prove momentarily successful it would blink away in a flash of light, no longer concerned with the ship's systems as all three of the smaller creatures were now firing on the Witch as it reappeared a handful of meters to the side.

Veska clenched her teeth as she curled into a fetal ball, doing her best to weather the large construct's brutal assault, even as hydrogel skin split in dozens of places and the protective hydrostatic gel beneath stiffened over and over. Pinned down as she was, fighting back wasn't the easiest thing to manage, and the gynoid hoped that her friend would be able to drive her attacker off before her body suffered irreparable damage.
Again Eliza briefly wondered how machines could be so sloppy with their shot placement, though she wasn't about to complain, and opted to capitalize on her good fortune by advancing diagonally towards the constructs in order to bring her sweeping slash into line at waist height, even as she fired a pair of slugs into the larger construct's back, aiming for what on a humanoid would be the spinal column, directly between the shoulder blades. Even if the shots didn't take the thing down, Eliza hoped that it might draw its attention away from Veska.
Eliza's slash would only catch one of the constructs, the first to have teleported away from her previous attack - whether whatever device it used to accomplish this was on a cool down or if it simply was not paying attention was up for debate, but it would fall to the deck as its legs were cut out from under it. It did not, however, die, upper body still very much functional as it aimed at Eliza from point blank range and fired. The other two constructs, having teleported back a few meters to avoid Eliza's slash, would open fire again as well.
Despite Veska's attempt to break free the larger creature's grip would remain secure, a mechanical vice holding her in place as it raised its other arm for another hammer blow. Eliza's first shot would prove ineffective if not downright dangerous, the round from her weapon bouncing off the armor plating on the creature's back to ricochet elsewhere in the cabin while the second shot ripped off a chunk of metal. None of that, however, seemed to distract the larger construct from the target it had secure in its grip.
