Makoto had been silent, having ordered a diet soda for herself and quietly observing her former teammates. While she had experience working in groups before, the mission on Arugia showed that she could fulfil other roles than merely tactician. This had rather surprised the former student council president because unlike the Phantom Thieves where she used her tactical mind to analyze Shadows and provide intel, Queen served as more of a support unit with her mercenary group by boosting allies' defense and healing their wounds after battle.
While her skill pool was still rather small, she continued each day to improve herself with various mercenary work, increasing her reputation and putting some much needed rent money in her pocket.
"You're just in time to hear my apology, as a matter of fact. I'm sorry for being so quiet. I'm looking for my next job but haven't had much success. I'm not too familiar with this portion of the galaxy."

"I think the fact that we're all even conversing right now is a miracle, after Auriga." Tycho leaned forward and rested his head on his crossed arms, ears pointed directly at Eresh as he returned, even if his eyes were closed. He didn't necessarily feel tired, but it was comfortable to exist in a space with so many people. "We're here to celebrate! Feel like an apology is the last thing you should be offering..."
The Vlaka took in a couple deep breaths and let his shoulders loosen, before opening his eyes and glancing back up at the Mawkin. "You haven't missed much, conversation mostly went quiet when you left. You try convincing Lemon to stay? I don't think I can blame her for the quick delta, but it was still nice to see her again."

Eliza smiled warmly at the Mawkin as he returned, though she was hardly surprised to find he'd been unsuccessful in convincing Lemon to rejoin the group. She felt similarly paranoid about DAW not so long ago, back before her secret had been sundered.
"I'm sure she'll be fine. I'd hoped playin' straight wi her would have set her at ease at least somewhat, but I'm na surprised. My line of work has a reputation wi reason," she remarked with a faint chuckle. "And yes, love. My usual will be wonderful," she added.
“Unfortunately not, Tycho. I just wanted to give her a few words of advice before she went home.” Eresh said as he would then smile at Eliza as he would order her usual from the table, before ordering another drink for himself and the Vlaka.
“Since you are back now, what are your plans for the rest of the evening?” He asked her, gently leaning on her in an affectionate, relaxed manner.

"Guess that kinda paranoia can't really be helped," he said to Eliza, gaze shifting her way. "Hard to imagine what she goes through every day... don't know much of the details, but she seems like she's had a hard life. Heavy memories, and all that. Sticks with you." Skirting ever-so-subtly on the truth, the Vlaka's tone leveled out somewhat, before he lifted his head back up in grateful acceptance of his drink.
"You pick up the Auriga job through the Big Shot like I did, or some other way?" This time his attention shifted to Makoto, as Tycho leaned back in his chair and poked contemplatively at the straw sticking out of his drink. "The network's been pretty helpful for getting me squared away with work here... and the info other hunters post is a good way to keep your ears to the ground."
He looked back to the lovebirds for the moment as he picked up his drink, crossing his arms and resting his glass in the crook of his elbow. He didn't really want to interrupt their one-on-one, so he looked back to Makoto and tilted his head.
“It is what it is, to try to brute force her into behaving any other way is an exercise in foolishness.” Eresh said as he continued to lean on Eliza, now turning his gaze on Makoto.
“She really was the odd one out amongst all of us, it is curious that she took such a job. Not really a gentle first-day experience for a new hunter.”
He would then chuff softly. “Then again, bounty hunting isn’t a gentle profession. Perhaps it was a good thing that she was exposed to one of the more savage sides to what the galaxy has to offer.”
I CAN'T HEAR THE STARS, BUT THE VOICE SPEAKS TO ME IN THE DARK
There was the usual noise and bustle of the Outrider's Reach as fresh new boots clicked against the jars floor panels. Her blue-green eyes shifted,, noticing an acute degree of heightened detail that she could see, while her hearing was even sharper than it had been after eighteen years of her original gene infusion. Over a month now since she had been allowed to leave the highly guarded facility in the α Ori singularity system. She'd picked up a few new weapons to fill the gap left by the loss of her beloved powered suit, as well as some light body armor and a solid personal shield projector. Battery powered, but she'd managed to do some modifications to get as much out of each power cell as she could.
The Jiralhanae at the front held up their hand, indicating for Samus to turn over any out right lethal sidearms, meaning that the new M6C she had picked up from a Misriah supplier had to be held until she left. Her paralyzer, thankfully, she could keep, and as she drew her M6 from the holster at the back of her waist to check it on, her eyes glanced around to see what the make up was tonight in the mercenary's sanctum.
Was that a human with *cat ears* she saw leaving? Followed by a red headed Ylf'ym woman who looked maybe ten years older than Samus did. Very strange. Though the red haired woman seemed as if recognizable to Samus, she couldn't quite place where she had seen the woman before.
And then she spied the very familiar corvid beak and feathers of a certain two and a half meter tall Mawkin freelancer who she had seen far too much of during her stay with Confed's best scientists and outbreak researchers. A lupine figure was with him, as was a raven haired young woman that looked around Samus' own age. No doubt the instant that the Mawkin saw her, he'd call Samus to join them, and she did need to check the open listing for work. Was better than avoiding notice, and would possibly make finding an easy job for getting back into the swing of things a lot simpler.
Plus, she reflected as she walked toward the main bar, she was hungry. A nice big meal would be good for her.
And it would prove to be prophetic. As the drinks were delivered to the groups table Eresh would catch an all too familiar shock of blond hair in his peripheral vision and turned his head to get a proper look… and he would nudge Eliza with his elbow.
“This evening just keeps getting more and more interesting by the hour,” he said to her before he gave another avian chortle. Really, what were the odds that Samus, Eliza, and himself would end up at the Reach on the same night- without telling each other? If that wasn’t an act of providence, he didn’t know what was. And so, just as Samus predicted he would raise a taloned hand and waved her over, voice raised to get her attention.
“Imagine seeing you here Ha’chid- Samus Aran! Come sit with us, we were commiserating over the recent jobs we’ve undertaken. I want to introduce you to my new associates as well!”

Tycho turned his head to look at Eresh once more, mulling the Mawkin's input on Lemon with a idly pensive swirl of the drink in his glass. He downed perhaps slightly too much of the drink in one go, taking a moment to let his nose meticulously deconstruct every single thing it could. They actually did the drink right here, to the bar's credit-- right down to the tequila sweet-and-sour, which most places didn't even bother with. The lemon-lime soda was... weird, though. He couldn't tell if it was all juice or all artificial.
In reference to the worst the galaxy has to offer, the Vlaka tilted his head, the opposite way of when he posed his prior question to Makoto. "Sure, but... I think she's seen plenty of that already, is my point. Too much of it, probably, if the way she reacted to a fed is anything to go by."
To a certain point, he didn't really even know why he was continuing this discussion-- the more he played with this topic's back-and-forth, the more a reluctance to volunteer information became an outright lie. Not that he was keeping anything particularly important close to the chest, but something a sensitive as Lemon's harrowing past was something Tycho felt was solely her business to tell.
If she ever would. If any of them ever saw her again, for that matter.
The Vlaka took another slower sip, eyes glancing more directly at Eliza for a few moments, before flicking back to her Mawkin lover. "Being new to the bounty trade doesn't mean being new to putting your life in danger, y'know? She walked and talked like she was used to that. Guess I'm just wondering what her deal is... or if there was something we could do for her, even."
His train of though on the matter fizzled, once the table's collective attention was directed elsewhere. Somebody new approached, another presumed friend of Eresh; someone he seemed to know pretty well. Tycho's eyes shifted from the Mawkin to this Samus Aran, and the corners of his eyes tightened in latent curiosity. Meeting someone new was always welcome, particularly for the presumed friend-of-a-friend, but there was something about this human that seemed... odd.
Probably just the alcohol, finally starting to hit him.

"I can imagine well enough what paranoia Lemon experiences. Those gifted in certain fields are rather wary of others, and wi reason," 'Aila' replied as she accepted her glass with a smile. "Though this talk makes me more curious as ta what ye found on this wee hunt of ye-," Eliza paused as Eresh called out, and she gave an amused laugh and waved to the blonde.
"We meet again, Miss Aran!" she chuckled softly as she gently nudged the Mawkin. "Are we certain th' Reach has enough on tap fer us all?" she quipped.
Eresh would nod in consideration as he waited to see if Samus would join them, or do her best to ignore the table and do her own thing: it was honestly a coin flip with Ha’chidari some days. The burdens of being a prophesied galactic savior: weighing the cost/benefits of potentially getting embarrassed in front of strangers- it almost caused Eresh to shed a tear at her plight. Almost being the operative term in this situation. But turning his attention back to the table;
“While I have no doubt that all that is true, I was actually referring to Makoto being the odd one out. She’s not the hardened mercenary type if you take her at first glance.. that kerfuckle at Faro’s expense had to be quite the eye opening experience for her.” He said with a hoarse avian chuckle.
I CAN'T HEAR THE STARS ANYMORE... BUT THE VOICE SPEAKS TO ME IN THE DARK
As expected, the Mawkin called her over. She was greeted by the red haired ylf'yn, meaning that they had indeed met at some point. Oddly, she felt the ylf'yn's accent seemed familiar, but not quite enough to immediately recognize, at least not as far as any native infliction she knew of for the ylf'yn.
"Been a while, Crow," came Samus' response to the Mawkin's greeting. She took the invitation, moving to join Eresh and his gathered companions whom, aside from the red haired ylf'yn, she had no inkling of previous encounters. "Running with a new crew these days?"
“You could say that, though we’ve only had a single mission together as a group so far. You’ve been pretty radio silent lately though, how have you been Samus?” He asked, tilting his head in a curious manner.
“I trust that you haven’t had much trouble with work, yes?”

The Shujin Academy alumni chuckled softly, setting aside the device she was using to order food to address the previous comments made by the older mercenaries. While they were correct that she was new to mercenary work, they might be surprised to know that she actually had extensive experience with the dark and gritty world of the supernatural. They had no way of knowing this of course, because it had been a closely guarded secret among Makoto and her inner circle, but she felt that telling Eresh and his team wouldn't be too harmful to her future prospects. Now to contribute to the conversation.
"I will admit that I am new to the mercenary life, and our mission was actually fairly harrowing, but let's just say I've been in... similar situations. Before becoming a mercenary, I used to be a police officer in Tokyo 2. I got tired of the corruption, so I quit. Figured I'd try my hand at dispensing actual justice."

Tycho rumbled out a sheepish little laugh in response to Eresh's clarification, immediately throwing his previous train of thought out the window.
"Hnh. "Noble Terra." I've met so many humans in my life, but very few of them actually from the "Old Country" or whatever some people call it... nice to hear even the cradle of humanity isn't immune to bureaucracy's sickness." A light bite of sarcasm bled through Tycho's tone as he took another sip of his drink, finding Makoto's reasons for leaving her job to resonate with him a little more than he was expecting.
He listened to him and Makoto converse, before his attention turned back to Samus, ears raised high. He offered a friendly half-salute when referred to by Eresh, but otherwise intended to wait until there was a point in the conversation where he could introduce himself.
