For the third time in the firefight aboard the Dancing Goddess, superheated plasma was hurled Eliza's way, reaching her before she could move out of the way, only to splash across an arcane barrier, following by a lightning fast circular slash, aimed to carve the construct's core out. This she then followed with a slash that followed the larger construct's central support, a spine on a living being, as she hoped to disable its motor control. "Veska, are ye alright down there?" the Witch called frantically. Distantly, she recognized they were back in the Tala System, but with the creatures still aboard her ship presenting an active threat, it didn't bring nearly as much comfort as it might have otherwise brought. What she really needed, though, was to bring the disable creatures to somewhere secure where they could be studied, but being relatively new to the military, she had no such clearance.
Veska, meanwhile, struggled frantically beneath the larger construct, trying to wrestle the thing off of her form so that she could break away and end the fight. with a salvo from the unattended shotgun not far from them.
Another construct fell to the deck, sparking - although the slash to the larger one's "spine" would prove utterly ineffective, only carving through armor and noncritical internal systems. Enough, seemingly, to enable Veska to break from of its grip... although this would be followed by the larger mech suddenly lashing out with that now unoccupied limp to sweep sideways at Eliza's legs, the creature suddenly turning its attention to her and a remaining mechanoid off to the side continued to spew plasma in Eliza's direction.

Eliza tried to move clear of the sweeping limb, but having seen it too late to move effectively, she opted for the next best option, and guided her plasma saber's blade in order to fall across the construct's shoulders, angling to sever the joints on either side in half lengthwise while also keeping the 27,000ºC blade away from her own body. As she fell, meanwhile, Veska rose, then rushed to gather up the gatling shotgun with such focus she didn't actually notice when a plasma bolt splashed harmlessly across an arcane barrier yet again. Instead, she squeezed the trigger, and unleashed another thunderous barrage of shot at the construct before her.
With those actions the skirmish in the cramped cabin of the Goddess would seem to finally come to a close, the hulking mech on the floor sparking and finally falling still as Eliza's blade severed its arms from its body. While the gatling gun Veska retrieved would send bits of the white fluid from the mech's core spraying across the cabin as the shotgun blasts tore it to pieces it, too, would fall to the deck still moments later as it sparked, silence falling over the interior of the vessel.

Eliza backpedaled from the machine as it finally fell under her companion's thunderous assault, wanting to avoid both the hail of shot and the splatters of unknown fluid. Realizing after a moment that they were finally alone, she deactivated her saber, then moved to the comms station.
"Sangheili stormcutter, our boarders have been neutralized. My copilot is moving to quarantine the..remains as best we are able. Status?" she inquired, while simultaneously prompting the AI to carefully gather the scrap and splatter in medical quarantine containers, as neither of the two women were sure if it qualified as a biohazard contaminant or not. It was only then that Eliza checked her sensors to see if their escort had indeed jumped back to the outskirts of the Tala System, or journeyed elsewhere.
Silence would be all that met as Eliza broadcast her message, sensors initially indicating that their escort had not made the jump back with or ahead of them. It would only be roughly a minute later that the telltale signs of an incoming slipspace jump could be seen, the more muted entrance of Sangheili slipspace borers enabling the relatively small stormcutter to appear in a flash of pale blue several kilometers off from the Goddess's port side flank. Outwardly at least the ship was undamaged, shielding still at full strength - and only then would the comm channel crackle to life in turn.
"Our boarders have been repelled, remains cleansed in fire. No casualties to report. Our regrets, we had not anticipated such boarding measures. Are there injuries of your own to report or damage to your vessel?"

"Negative on injuries, but I'll need to remove some deck plates. Some sort of biological fluid. I've enough remains I can send your people one of them for study. Whatever these things are.. I've never seen anything like it, and they're hostile," Eliza replied as she slumped into the chair. "Your escort has been greatly appreciated, shipmaster, but until I can properly decontaminate my ship and verify no critical systems were damaged, I can't go back out. More importantly, I need to inform my superiors of this potential threat, as I'm sure you must do soon for your own."
