May 2023 It's been hectic this last year, but we are alive and celebrating our fifth year of adventure and tales. A lot has been worked on to help make the Monoverse one that everyone can enjoy and explore their story while becoming a part of the greater cosmos. Occupation: Formerly a geneticist of the Tho’ha Tribe, now the benefactor of a corporate head and underground crime lord.
Distinguishing Characteristics: August Thorn is a Chozo of the Tho’ha, and is most distinguished by the shock of white feathers around his neck, some of them having been dyed various colors- in actually having been discolored due to exposure to various experimental medicinal chemicals. Usually unarmored, the avian man’s robes often obscure personal weaponry for self defense.
Other Information: It is important to know that everything August Thorn does is performed in the name of the greater good. For his entire life, Zai’nash has dedicated himself to discovering ways to undo the damaging effects of the Horde’s Genophage weapon and save his tribe, and the Brood as a whole, from extinction. As a result of this desperate goal, August had eventually resorted to riskier and more extreme forays into genetic research as the centuries went by, his experiments growing both increasingly ambitious and unethical until he was finally cast out by his peers for his crimes.. though they could not bring themselves to kill him- for execution was not the Tribe’s way.
For this perceived betrayal August would renounce his past with his tribe, and would travel the galaxy and begin offering his services as a scientist to those who had both the funds and the lack of scruples to afford them- often in the form of highly experimental combat drugs or dangerous genetic augmentations. He still strives to find a way to save the Brood, and will do anything in his power to do so; he will make the Chozo species more that what it was- Even if it results in the species being changed beyond recognition. Even if his efforts result in nothing but a race of monsters. It was during these travels that he would meet a sickly young pickpocket, and this chance meeting brought about a partnership that would allow the rogue Tho’ha to perceive of a new possibility.. a future hope he had not considered, with his new ward at the forefront of it all.
