My borough becomes active around dawn, most of us leave for work including myself. I hear that on the colonies dawn is actually heralded by the rising of their star, but here it is simply the brightening of the lights in the street, even on the surface the clouds rarely let the suns through.
I've heard that solar dawn is beautiful, I'd like to see it some day.

After breaking fast comes the workday, It is likely the same across any civilization, I attend one of the city's foundries, a technician. The work is simple, easy, simply watching the readouts and making sure things are going smoothly, only twice did I actually need to repair anything last week. It's unremarkable, must be thousands more just in the homesystem alone.
I am glad to be inside, they say the surface is either cold enough you'll freeze in minutes or you'll get eaten by plants.

When my shift is done I get ingredients for supper, the borough market tends to be well stocked year round since everyone synchronizes the gardens for a continual harvest. The colonies with surface settlements still use the pre-unification methods, massive semi-automated farms sprawling across the landscape tied to the seasons, and they have to freeze most of their food or dry it out, doesn't seem very palatable if you ask me.
It's citrus and bread today, I've got some paste left over from last week's allotment.

I often read at home, in the hours between supper and slumber. Lots of people spend their time with virtual media, virtual reality has been popular for a long time now, but I get migraines so that's not an option. The ancient classics are a favorite of mine, stories from Before Arrival, the old world. Tales of great sorcerers, demons and angels. The Archives were probably the most important thing we've ever made, in my opinion at least, we can keep track of things.
Lately I've been reading about the great crusades, the wars of unification, from the side of our enemies. The Davish texts were buried in the public files, a shame since they're a fascinating read.

Not sure why they asked me to do this, but the initiative offered a bonus so I figured 'why not'.
