It had been some time since Eliza had last set foot in the Outrider's Reach, and the first that she had done so under her own name and face. She expected a few to potentially recognize her face, due to her until recently abandoned position as officially the youngest CEO in the defense industry, though she doubted it would be enough to cause more than the occasional odd look. At her side was another woman, young and evidently relatively inexperienced, who had taken on an assignment from D-MODA. Hopefully, she was talented enough to survive the mission, which was why she'd offered drinks and lunch on her while they learned more about each other prior to heading out the next day for their rendezvous. "Ye want a table or th' bar good fer ye?" she queried idly as she glanced about the somewhat noisy bar. "Still never got yer name, fer that matter."
“Bar is fine with me.“ Alex said, waving for the waiter's attention. At least she thought that was a waiter. Then again it might have been a wall decoration, or somebody's pet, in which case she'd look pretty silly. She wrenched her wandering thoughts back to the conversation. “I'm Alex. Nice to meet you.“
She flashed a beaming smile while discreetly sticking her gum on the underside of the bar. It was only proper not to chew gum and drink at the same time after all. “So.... do this kind of thing often?“

"Name's Eliza. Eliza Lockheed, actually," she answered as she took her seat. "And what part do ye mean? Bounties in general, aye. Contracts fer th' GalFed military? No, this is a first fer me. What of yerself?" Eliza wondered as she perused the menu. "Given what we're pokin' about wi, high chance of combat. Ye ever had any experience in that? Have any armor?" Eliza paused for a moment, then signaled to the bartender, steadfastly ignoring Alex's...flirting(?) with the Yl'fin waitress that seemed to have not even noticed her. "Na ta be rude, but ye do seem like ye're na ta this sort of work. I want ta make certain ye're as prepared as ye can be, aye?"
“What's a girl have to do to get a drink around here anyway?“ Alex muttered, before giving up on her attempts. Someone might get the wrong idea.
She quilckly realized she is going to have some trouble with this one. Especially when her attention wandered all over the place. What was Eliza saying again? Yerenata?
“Oh no. I'm not Renata. Alex. Ah-Lex.“
“Who is This renata person anyway? Someone you're looking for? Havent met anyone called that, sorry.“
”As for the other stuff, I'm kind of fresh out of Angel City. Made my way over when I heard about the contract. Looks like a good way to explore and earn some cash while doing it.“ And a good way to poke around places people normaly kept away from. The leads on Dad's whereabouts were running dry. So was her bank account. It was time she started looking in more unconventional places.
“But I can promise I'll do my part. I can handle myself in a fight, especialy in a tight space, when it's up close and personal. Otherwise I like to keep on the move, stealthy and quiet. You need something hacked, you can count on me.“ She wiggled the fingers of her cybernetic hand. Looking over Eliza's gear, her other hand fell on the pommel of her katana, almost protectively. “I know I don't look like much. But I make use with what I have.“

Eliza considered correcting the younger hunter as to what she'd said, but decided to let it go when the answer she was looking for was given anyway. She had no desire to get involved in a tedious discussion regarding her decidedly Terran dialect, even if she was somewhat irritating at points.
"Ye might want ta be careful about when ye use that, Alex. What we'll be dealin' wi, that's na th' ideal weapon. I've a spare PCA that might fit ye well enough, though. Shielded, too. If ye like, we can gan ta my ship after, I'll get ye sized ta see how much adjustment needs doin', and ye can get acclimated ta wearin' it so ye can stay stealthy, ye know?" Eliza then turned to flag the bartender down. "Oi! Right, so I'll have a glass of Carib Glass. Alex, what're ye wantin', I'm buyin'." she offered
Seeker strode into gathering place, one Outrider's Reach, with a spare head in one hand and a carving tool in the other. The replacement was freshly printed and he wanted to get some decorations on there to spice it up, likely some markings on the top and back. A quick survey of the room would reveal his fellow mercs at the bar, and a few rattling steps would take the fully bedecked bloke to the empty seat beside the witch. A quick order for a moderately priced drink that'd never be drunk, and he was ready for interaction. The ceramic clad cyberman would glance over to the others.
"As you likely can see, this one has new 'threads'. The Grenades were left behind due to the problems of bringing high explosives into a crowded social center. It is bringing it's entire reserve stock, so there should be plenty... how do your days find you?"
“This thing? It usually cuts through anything. Maybe not on the first try, but it gets in there eventually.“ Alex watched something emerging from the entrance as she spoke.
“If you're willing to lend some spare armour, I won't say no. If you have enough space on your ship I can use the travel time to get used to it. If it's light enough I can probably make it work.“
“I'll have a martini. Um... Is our friend there carrying an extra head?“ She said through her smile as their companion approached. “Is it some strange trophy display thing?“ If it was, at least it wasn't organic and leaking blood all over.
“Well hello there. Our days are well, probably not as well as yours though, what with your, ah, extra...pieces...“
“Looks handy, that.“ Her eyes alternated between the head on his sholuders and the one he carried around.

"Plasma saber cuts even better, but those are expensive and really difficult ta learn, especially fer baseline humans, ye know?" Eliza remarked. "Sounds like we've got a nice arrangement started fer ye, though, once we're done here. Which, speakin' of.." she continued as she turned her gaze to the new arrival, regarding the AI with a look of mild confusion.
"Alex, this is Seeker. Na his official name, if I understand rightly, but th' actual designation's a bloody mouthful and Seeker works perfectly well. He's an odd one, but he's got his talents. We've worked together once before, actually. Seeker, I'll be sorta takin' Alex under my wing fer a bit, seein' as fram what she's told me, she's na actually done much in th' way of military or government contracts. Might want ta make certain she knows what makes yer party favors so special, aye? And aye, Alex, that is an extra heid he's got. Why, I'm na entirely certain, but I'm guessin' he can survive losin' th' one atop his shoulders, so that's a backup. Possibly. I donna know him all that well, ta be fair, so I could be completely off."
"The 'party favours' explode, with varying effects. Yes, this one can function without a head, albeit blind, dumb, and deaf. Yes, this is a backup. No, you are not completely off. As for knowing this one, feel free to submit queries, it won't divulge state secrets though."
He had to admit, he was rather curious about the other two. One clearly a human, the other very human-like but with highly abnormal hair colouration, both non-imperial; unfortunately, the possibility of acquiring genetic samples for testing to determine the degree of genetic drift between the completely isolated (till now) populations were quite low.
"Do tell, how prevalent are humans in the universe at large? This one was surprised to find them outside the empire, but it hasn't gotten an answer to that yet. What careers did you hold before turning to bounty-hunting, what affiliations, if any, do you still hold?"
T'was time to start gathering information, the better to coordinate. The more he knew, the more likely it would be he could get both them and himself out alive/functioning in the event that things went bottom up. Never hurt to sate one's curiosity either...
