MISSION OVERVIEW

One year ago, Citadel space was shaken by the sapient mechanical construct known as Sovereign. After several weeks of investigation and hunting by the newly empowered Spectre, Commander Janice Shepard, and her ragtag crew and allies, the rogue agent Saren was killed, and his Geth allies driven away. Yet despite everything, the Council now refutes the very idea that the Reapers, a mysterious machine race shrouded in myth and legends

A month passed, and the unthinkable happened. While investigating an area on orders from the Council, Shepard and her ship, the SSV Normandy, were attacked by an unidentified vessel, and the Normandy was destroyed. While saving those she could of her crew, Shepard herself was lost to space.

Yet that was not to be her end...
