About the Character Franchise/Setting this Character is From || Metroid How Much Experience Do You Have With Character/Franchise? || I’ve written him a couple times before.
Why Would This Character Be A Good Fit For Our Site? || He is a dastardly villain who’ll provide a fair challenge to some heroes once his clone grows up and since Samus is a thing here, it's only fair Ridley joins the party to throw hands with his nemesis lol Do You Roleplay This Character Elsewhere? || Only in another server References For People Who Are Unfamiliar || metroid.fandom.com/wiki/Ridley
The Basics Name || Ridley Nicknames || The Cunning God of Death Age || It is unclear how old the original is, it is speculated Ridley is at least over a hundred years old Birthday || His date of birth is unknown Species || Unidentified dragon-like alien Gender || Male Alignment/Faction || Chaotic Evil Sexuality || Murdersexual Heterosexual Face Claim || N/A Height & Weight || 7 meters tall and 700 lbs Identifying Features || Ridley has pale purple skin with a beige underbelly. Overall || At first glance, Ridley seems thin and gangly. However, his slender appearance hides an immense underlying musculature. Taking a look at his physical appearance, Ridley looks like a cross between a pterodactyl and a dragon. He has dark purple skin and a pair of large bat-like wings sticking out of his back. His wings are so large and muscular that he can use them as an extra pair of limbs to walk on while on the ground. Ridley has a long spindly tail ending in a serrated blade-like tip.
The Personality Personal Strengths || Ridley is a highly intelligent being in spite of his appearance, having a knack for tactical and strategic planning. He rarely caves under pressure and stays focused on the task in front of him. He is exceedingly cunning, able to manipulate others into doing his bidding or talking his way out of a situation.
Personal Weaknesses || Needless to say, Ridley is a remorseless sociopathic monster with an insatiable desire to kill. He is incredibly unpredictable and can lash out without provocation. Ridley is not above killing his own allies when they outlive their usefulness to him (or when he’s bored).
Goals || While he enjoys looting like any other pirate, Ridley’s true goal is to wipe out every race that he deems inferior to himself. He hates all other lifeforms and believes its his right to kill everyone.
Fears || Ridley fears one thing: Samus Aran. After countless years of fighting and being thrown at death’s door time and time again by the intergalactic bounty hunter, Ridley is rightfully terrified of Samus. However he hides that fear behind a mask of malicious taunting and bloodlusted rage whenever he confronts Samus.
Overall || Ridley is the manifestation of pure malice made corporeal. A nightmarish beast of monstrous savagery, he is driven by one goal: to kill everything in sight. A savage murderer of the most heinous degree, Ridley takes sick pleasure in ripping other lifeforms to bloody shreds. He especially enjoys killing humans, having once claimed they were fun to squish. Ridley’ll tear anyone to pieces with his bare claws just for the sake of amusement and he’ll do so with sadistic enthusiasm. In his bloodlusted zeal for violence, Ridley won’t show not even one iota of mercy to his enemies. He’ll become so grotesquely violent in a fight that it even disturbs the other space pirates, especially considering how much energy Ridley wastes in his murder-crazed frenzies. Still, none of Ridley’s peers are brave enough to mention anything to the dragon for fear that he'll turn his insatiable bloodlust on them. Narcissistic as he is brutal, Ridley views himself as an elite lifeform. He has a major superiority complex, counting himself as superior to every other species and sees the "lower" races as something only to exterminate. In his arrogance, Ridley sees himself as invulnerable and unkillable. He thinks nothing can harm him. Ridley also has a morbidly sadistic sense of humor, taking pleasure in toying with his victims’ minds and deliberately torturing them. Though he loathes most other species, few get on Ridley’s nerves more than Samus Aran—who constantly interferes with Ridley’s agenda. Ridley hates Samus with all of his being and will go to any length to try to kill her. Ridley is obsessed with killing Samus not just because she has an obnoxious tendency to interfere with his agendas, but in truth Ridley greatly fears her as well. He is dreadfully aware of the fact that Samus is a legitimate threat to him and will do everything in his power to end her life before she can end his.
Talents and Equipment Unique Abilities || Ridley has the ability to fire superheated plasmic heat beams out of his jaws. The fiery beam is concussive enough to push large objects back as well as melt down steel. Ridley’s Plasma Breath is hot enough to burn underwater. In addition to his plasma blasts, he can also launch volleys of highly explosive fireballs from his mouth with blazing speed and near pinpoint accuracy. Ridley has a considerably efficient regenerative factor that allows him to heal from any wound—even wounds that would kill anyone else. However, to activate this ability, Ridley has to devour his victims and absorb their cells.
Skills || Ridley is an exceptional aerial combatant, dominating the airways. He is more maneuverable and agile in the sky where he can outmaneuver aircraft and other flying beings.
Training || It is unknown where or how Ridley trained, but some sources claim he trained with the High Command’s elite soldiers.
Combat Strengths || Ridley is a physical powerhouse of an alien that utilizes brute strength and deadly firepower to overpower his foes. His ferocity in combat is matched only by very few warriors. Ridley’s thick keratinous skin provides additional protection from all but the most hardy of ranged and melee weapons.
Combat Weaknesses || While Ridley’s skin is thick enough to protect him from normal weaponry, armor-piercing artillery can break through it. Plasma weaponry are also ideal for breaking though his armor. Ridley’s regenerative abilities are incredibly potent, but if there’s nothing to eat then he can’t heal. He has a severe aversion to cold temperatures; cryogenic weapons and cold-based powers could slow him down or halt him altogether and too much can force Ridley into a comatose-like state until he can warm up.
Weapons || Ridley has proven to be a fierce opponent in battle. While fighting hand-to-hand, Ridley primarily makes use of his lethal claws, talons, and tail to dispatch enemies. He can impale his foes with the bladed tip of his tail and tear his victims to shreds with his teeth and claws.
Ship || Ridley commands an exceptionally large military-class frigate cruiser. Or once commanded it.

Homeworld || Zebes
History || Next to nothing is known of Ridley's pre-military background (if he even had any), but it is safe to say that he made his way up the ranks until finally he was designated military leader of the Space Pirates (or took the role by force). He also appears to have been held in considerable favor among members of High Command. Gray Voice once mentioned that he corrected Ridley's genetic flaws with Chozo technology, though the extent of this modification is unknown. Ridley's first documented sighting—and his most infamous—took place on the Star Colony K-2L, on which he conducted a massive raid with the main goal being to steal the planet's Afloraltite, but he also allowed his soldiers to destroy whatever they wanted. During the raid, he met a three-year old girl holding her pet rabbit Pyonchi—this little girl was named Samus Aran. Amid all the destruction, little naive Samus went up to and asked to befriend Ridley. Initially feeling pity towards her, Ridley promptly decided to kill her despite thinking that she was "so cute". Before he could strike, however, Samus' mother pushed her out of the way at the cost of her own life. Ridley was largely unphased by this action, however, as he simply intended to torch everything due to no longer needing to hold back upon gaining access to the Afloraltite. Meanwhile, Samus' father destroyed the supplies the pirates were after, but was himself killed in the blast. Ridley noticed the ship bursting into flame and pondered why it was on fire before the wreckage started heading towards him, to his disbelief. Ridley appeared to be injured by the wreckage, but he survived, later claiming to have survived by consuming the flesh of the deceased humans and regrowing his own cells. Little did Ridley know that by orphaning the young Samus, he unknowingly created his own worst enemy (and the enemy of all the Space Pirates). It was a mistake that would—quite literally—follow him his entire life.
Current Story || After the Confederation amassed two fleets to take the Space Pirates on in a massive battle, the latter were ultimately defeated. This led to Ridley being captured by the Confederation. Ridley is currently held prisoner in a solitary Confederation prison, kept in a box where he is in a constant state of sedation. With the majority of the pirates dead or scattered, Ridley has no choice but to remain in solitary confinement and await his punishment….
Other Information || ……Rumor has it that a secret project involving creating an artificial clone of Ridley using one of his scales is underway. Rumors have yet to be confirmed.

Roleplay Sample || The afternoon sky, once a warm blend of soft oranges and yellows, turned into a black splotchy mass after being blotted out by thick columns of smoke rising from the wreckage of what once was a thriving human colony. Flames crackled throughout the ruins as the pathways were flooded with debris; smoldering carriages were scattered around the area, the soily floor itself was torn asunder, the broken remains of once compact little houses were viciously gouged out and torn to shreds. If it wasn’t grim already, countless bodies were strewn throughout the floor; their lifeless faces forever locked in gaping terror at their demise. Patrolling the flaming ruins were large humanoid beings clad in grey armor, with terrible gnashing pincers and nasty mandibles on their insectoid faces. Their arms gripping onto plasma blasters, the ungainly pirates chittered amongst themselves whilst shooting down any survivors. In the center of the bloodied field was a massive dragon-like beast. Upon first glance, he looked gangly; almost as if he was a walking skeleton. However, upon further inspection, one could see underlying musculature hiding underneath layers of keratinous purple scales. The monster uttered a shrill hiss, lifting his sinewy arm, revealing a struggling man dangling in his claws.
“P-PL-PLEASE, L-LET ME GO! I-I-I WON’T TELL THE C-CONFEDERATION ABOUT THIS! I-I-I’LL KEEP QUIET! YOU C-C-CAN TRUST ME! P-P-PLEASE!!!” The man squealed in a pathetic attempt to beg for his life, his face pale with terror as the beast held him in a chokehold. The winged monster tapped his claws on the sheet of metal he perched on, his amber eyes narrowing slightly as he glanced at the man. For a moment, he seemed to entertain the idea. A small part of him wanted to let the man live for a bit longer if for no other reason than to make him watch the rest of his people burn. Wouldn’t that be fun? But the beast wasn’t stupid. A malicious toothy grin slowly creeped up on his slender maw as his eyes sparkled with a predatory glint.
“Oh, you poor useless thing…. So scared out of your mind. Don't worry you little human! I believe you….”
CRRRUUUUNNNCH!!
His claws tightened on the man’s throat until a sickening crunch filled the air. The man immediately went limp, dangling lifelessly from Ridley’s grip. A dark chuckle escaping his maw, Ridley callously tossed the body on the ground.
“You won’t be telling anyone ANYTHING.”Ridley hissed as he gazed upon the man’s lifeless form, his eyes twinkling with sick pleasure before taking a moment to inspect his claws.
“Y’know, it’s almost sad how humans are so easily squashed. It’s like ripping apart a big pile of putty! It’s fun, though, right? I could rip open thousands of these flesh bags for HOURS. Maybe I should catch a bunch of humans, throw them into a pen, and make a game out of chasing them around like lab rats and eviscerating them. Now that’s an idea.”Ridley casually spoke to no one in particular, his charismatic voice belying sadistic undertones.
“Alternatively, these hairless apes make great snacks.”
Ridley opened his jaws, revealing rows of huge razor-sharp teeth as he grabbed the body and shoved it inside his jaws. Deep guttural hisses escaped his maw as he greedily devoured the human whole as if he was chomping on a bagel. Once he finished, Ridley turned to the pirates with a hiss.
“Hunt down and kill any human that’s still crawling around. I want no survivors.”Ridley ordered. The pirates trilled and saluted their captain before spreading out. Ridley stood up, surveying the devastation with a cheeky grin. Nothing made him happier than slaughtering innocent villagers for the sake of amusement. The loot left behind by the former occupants was just a little bonus.
