When she asked about what magic users he had faced, he would noticeably more quiet “Pass.” He said as he would then sigh “I don’t know that magic was particularly rare, never thought about it to be honest.” He would then shake his head “But I don’t really want a history lesson about magic- it’s not really important to me where magic comes from.”

Eliza cocked her head slightly at Eresh's response, filing that away for later. "Definitely a soldier," she remarked in an almost teasing manner. "Ye've no particular curiosity beyond how it's practical ta ye in th' here and now. Reminds me a bit of a Spartan I met once. Canna tell ye details, mind. Classified and all that, and I like na bein' locked up. So..what's home like fer ye?" Eliza asked, opting to change the subject to something she hoped would be a less touchy subject. "Or would ye prefer ta know of mine first?"
That actually earned what she was quickly learning to be a chuckle from the avian. “I have a great deal of curiosity, I simply don’t care to indulge it too much when I am on the hunt.” He said as they wove between several trees. “The mission takes precedence.” He said as he then gave thoughtful hum.
“To me, home is a forest.. though one that isn’t quite as idyllic as here. It’s a very wild place.”

"Define wild," Eliza replied as she casually checked her motion tracker. No sign of anything other than native wildlife so far, though given what they already knew, that hardly came as a surprise. "I mean, there's parts of Ylf'yna that'll chew ye up and eat yer feathered ass if ye're na careful, and Terra's got some places that are dangerous enough that our special forces lads train fer survival by spending a week or two there." Eliza hoped that the homeworld Eresh spoke of was not so different from Terram, but something about his appearance made her suspect it was very much a death world. After all, he was a giant raptor bird.
That caused him to chuckle more enthusiastically as they continued on, and he would then shake his head “I don’t doubt there are dangerous creatures here. But so far.. the most danger I’ve encountered are the Kromus and they aren’t all that dangerous compared to the creatures back home. I’d say that their intelligence gives them an edge.. but it’s not sharp enough.” He would then make a sharp left turn to avoid some close knit trees, pressing a hand to her side to help keep her from losing her balance.
“I have no experience with the human homeworld, so I will take your word for it.”

"If ye call th' Kromus na dangerous, th' fuck do ye call dangerous?" Eliza questioned incredulously, unfazed by the sharp turn or the subsequent contact Eresh initiated, though it did remind her of just how tiny she was compared to the warrior. She couldn't feel much through her armor, of course, but the gentle pressure was enough to inform her that he was indeed holding her. "Eresh, I appreciate th' thought, but I can ride perfectly fine. Ye donna need ta worry I'll fall off," she explained in an almost teasing tone.
“That’s the thing, I didn’t say they weren’t dangerous- merely they they aren’t overly so compared to some of the things I’ve encountered in my life thus far. I’m sure if they attacked me in force I’d be in quite a predicament. That said, I’m pretty adept at fighting in my not-so-humble opinion.” He said with a chuckle. When she made mention of not needing assistance in keeping her balance, he would promptly remove his hand.
“My apologies, I meant no disrespect.” He said as they crested over an incline.. and again his hand helped keep her from bouncing too high- placed on her shoulder for just a moment before letting go.

Amusement tinged Eliza voice as she felt Eresh steady her once more, or rather, attempt to help steady her. Accustomed to racing her heavily modified speeder bike at speeds most humans wouldn't dare ride at, she'd tightened her legs together without even giving the action thought. Very likely she could have raced professionally, had she truly desired to prioritize that in her life, but she was certain she could do more good doing what she was doing already.
"Second time ye've apologized in under a minute," she quipped. "I'd call ye Canadian, but their big birds are fuckin' hellions. They're called geese. Bloody horrifyin', really. Be funny ta turn a flock of them on th' Kromus, but I donna want ta get bitten by th' damned things myself." For a moment, the Witch wondered if Eresh would get the joke, but realized it was entirely possible that he might not know that geese were not in fact apex predators, however ill-tempered they might be. "So..warrior culture, aye? Personal honor's highly prized? Sounds a lot like th' Sangheili. Ye ever met one?"
“I have no idea what a Canadian or a Goose is.. but they sound like my kind of creatures. The more dead Kromus, the better.” He said, not getting her joke at all.
“Yes, we have our codes.. and I have heard of them, but I have never met one thus far.”
He then would take a stop for a moment, removing his helmet now.. and she got a good look at the Chozo without his armor obscuring his face. He looked almost crow like, black feathers covering his head, ruffling slightly as he gave her an apologetic shrug. “I’m taking a drink break.” He said as he reached for a cylindrical container filled with a vibrant green liquid. He then opened it and took a drink.. before then offering it to her.

Eliza dismounted as they came to a stop, then idly swept her rifle in a slow meandering arc to scan the area with her scope. Once satisfied that they were alone, she slung the Valkyrie back across the magnetic locking plate on her back and unsealed her helmet, then set it on the back of the Skimmer.
"They're also unreasonably tall, jist na quite as tall as ye..and I'm guessin' th' rest of yer tribe isna much different fram ye?" she guessed. "Decent lot, though," she added before arching an ashen-white brow at the liquid offered to her. "Erm..what is it, and are ye sure it's na toxic ta humans?"
He would give a nod “I suppose they aren’t too different, but no one is truly like me.” Eresh said as he looked at his offered container “It shouldn’t be. It’s simply a fruit juice mixed with medicinal supplements. All of which should be safe for human consumption.”

"What makes ye different?" Eliza wondered as she took the bottle, then took a long draught before handing it back to the Mawkin. "Like fram th' rest of yer kin, I mean. Are th' rest of yer tribe less prone ta gettin' into trouble?" she wondered, flashing a grin up at him.
The juice didn’t truly taste like any fruit she had ever had before.. but it reminded her of maybe pineapple? Lime? It was an interesting flavour at any rate. At her question, Eresh would take a moment to think of how to word his response.
“Let’s just say that I have a greater value on independence and personal initiative.” He said as he took the bottle back. “Being a rank and file soldier wasn’t something I particularly enjoyed.” He said as he stowed the bottle away. There was quite a bit more to it, but she didn’t really need to know those details.

Eliza pursed her lips as she tried to place the flavor, though she grew only slightly concerned when she found she didn't recognize it. It was citrus, so it wasn't likely to be harmful to her, and the flavor was refreshing enough. She'd have to ask about it later, she mused as she picked her helmet back up and sealed it in place, then mounted the Skimmer once more.
"So, what ye're tellin' me is, ye're terrible at followin' orders?" she quipped, not about to allow her companion to escape with a subject change. "And now.. ye're a hunter?" Eliza guessed, steadily piecing together what she knew of Eresh in her mind to form a profile of sorts.
He would carefully reassemble his own helm after the drink, pausing before he placed the upper mask portion of his helmets internal components, allowing her to see him raise one brow in contemplation. After a few moments he gave a soft chuff.
“It was a fair bit more complicated than that, but you could say something along those lines. Then again, I never had a problem following orders per say: it simply depended on the orders issued.” He said as he finished assembling his helmet, everything clicking together with a pressurized hiss. Once Eliza was back on the Skimmer he would lean forward to take the controls- once again looming over the half-elven woman.
“Here we go. It’s not much farther now, by my approximation,” he said as he started up the skimmer and got the anti-grav vehicle moving.
